Contents

On 15–16 October, the annual Grant Thornton Baltic Managers’ Conference took place in Vilnius, bringing together colleagues from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. This year, the conference placed a strong focus on collaboration, creating an opportunity to share experience and knowledge, strengthen connections between the three Baltic teams and discuss shared priorities.

The first day of the conference focused on practical work and discussions. Participants worked in separate service line groups, where they discussed current challenges, opportunities for growth, and ways to share expertise and resources more effectively across the Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian teams. The discussions covered not only service development, but also shared clients, the use of technology and artificial intelligence, and closer collaboration among specialists across the three Baltic countries.

On the second day, the topics discussed in the working groups led to broader discussions on Grant Thornton Baltic’s future direction and shared priorities. One of the main areas of focus was further strengthening collaboration across the Baltics by sharing expertise and investments, and bringing together the experience of specialists from different fields across all three countries. The discussions also covered growth, attracting and developing talent, maintaining high service quality, and further strengthening Grant Thornton Baltic’s position in the market. A panel discussion brought these topics together, focusing on shared goals for the coming years and closer collaboration across the Baltics.

The conference programme was enriched by guest speakers: N. Mačiulis, Chief Economist at Swedbank; D. Lupshitz, civic activist; A. Tapinas, journalist, author and civic activist; and I. Daubaraitė-Palmquist, leadership and organisational development consultant. Their sessions brought different perspectives to some of the key issues facing businesses and organisations today, including the economic outlook, decision-making in challenging situations, leadership, navigating change and uncertainty, and effective collaboration within organisations. The conference also provided an opportunity to look at Grant Thornton’s future direction. G. Hakobyan, Head of the EME&CIS region, presented Grant Thornton International’s strategy.

Supporting Ukraine was another important part of the conference. Colleagues from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia were invited to contribute to a fundraising initiative, demonstrating the shared support of all three Baltic teams.

The conference also gave us another reason to celebrate. Two new partners joined the Grant Thornton Baltic partner team: J. Matulaitienė, Certified Auditor in Lithuania, and K. Paalberg, Head of Business Risk Services and Senior Internal Auditor in Estonia.

One of Grant Thornton Baltic’s strengths is our ability to combine the experience of our teams across the Baltics with expertise from different professional fields. By sharing this knowledge, we can learn from one another, connect more easily with the right expertise, and provide our clients with a broader perspective and coordinated services across all three countries.

The annual Managers’ Conference is one of the opportunities to come together, exchange ideas and practices that work well in each country, and continue strengthening collaboration between our teams in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
