Key changes in tax legislation in the Baltics in 2019

In the beginning of the year, several tax changes were introduced in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Some of the changes will become effective in 2019. In addition we shall highlight tax rates applicable in the Baltics as of 2019.

In addition to several individual changes, there are also general changes that shall be applicable in all Baltic states as of 2019:

  1. Establishing anti-abuse rules, to avoid aggressive tax planning
  2. VAT treatment of vouchers / gift cards
  3. Changes in taxation of e-services
  4. Increase of excise duties
